We require a property release for graffiti, including murals and tags. Street art counts as protectable art, even if it was painted illegally.
You will have to track down the artist to get a property release. If they’ve signed the art piece, you might have some luck via Google. If you’re unable to track down the artist and have a release signed, unfortunately, we are unlikely to accept the content.
We may be able to accept tight crops or graffiti with lots of layers where no individual piece stands out. As usual, it depends, and our Legal team will have to look case-by-case.
The legal position regarding street art and graffiti is changing, and while there remain some instances where we will be able to accept unreleased street art, increasingly, we cannot.
