Stocksy does not accept AI-generated content at this time.
This includes using Adobe Photoshop's Generative Fill to expand or add to your own content.
Artificial intelligence (AI) art is artwork created using artificial intelligence tools such as DALL-E, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and similar.
The main issue from a legal standpoint is that the US copyright authorities do not consider art produced using generative AI to be protectable by copyright. Unless and until that position changes, uploading AI would breach your member agreement with Stocksy since we require all our artists to own the copyright in all content they upload. It would also breach the promises that we make to clients in our license agreement about the ownership of rights.
AI is an issue that all of our teams across the business are keeping a close eye on and discussing regularly. We will update the community if and when the legal position changes.
What about AI-generated images used as props?
We also don't accept AI-generated images used as props (framed art, magazine covers, apps, graphs, video games, etc.) as they can't legally be property released.
