Okay, so we've convinced you why you should join. Now here's a quick overview of how the process works:
1. Submit an Application
You'll begin by filling out our application form, where you'll share some information, links, and samples of your work.
2. Review Process
Our team will review your application based on quality, originality, and how well your work aligns with Stocksy's collection goals. We may email you if we need more information. If you're a good fit, we'll invite you to join the co-op.
3. Account Setup
Once accepted, you'll receive an email letting you set up your contributor account, including:
- Choosing a handle (which becomes your portfolio URL, e.g., stocksy.com/yourhandle)
- Filling in your contributor profile
- Selecting your preferred payment method
4. Submitting Work
After setup, you'll gain access to our Image Manager, where you can upload and submit your content. Be sure to review our Submission Checklist for everything you'll need to include.
Our Editors review all submissions for:
- Technical quality
- Commercial potential
- Legal compliance
- Fit with Stocksy's aesthetic and standards
If your submission needs adjustments (like metadata edits, retouching, or legal clarifications), we'll send it back with comments. You can view feedback in Image Manager and via email, make changes, and resubmit.
Once approved, your files will be published and available for licensing on Stocksy.
5. Sales!
After your work is online, clients will have immediate access to buy it. Stocksy contributors earn between 50% and 75% royalties, depending on the type of license sold.
6. Keep Going
You'll have ongoing, regular access to:
- Personalized feedback from our team
- Support deciding what to upload based on your strengths and our content needs
- Monthly client wishlists, creative briefs, and webinars
- Content suggestions tailored to trends, collection gaps, and licensing potential
We're here to support your growth as a contributor and help you succeed, whether you're looking for creative direction, technical advice, or insight into what our clients are looking for — just ask, and we're happy to help!
