How can that thing possibly be a legal issue?

We know, right? Some of the things we can't accept due to legal risk seem downright ridiculous--but it's the law.

A large part of what we do involves an assessment of risk. Even though we might stand a good chance of defending a particular claim, the time, cost and hassle involved in litigation will always make it worth avoiding. As a co-op, we don't want a legal case to take money away from our contributors.

So, if a brand, company, or group of people is known for being litigious (however nonsensical it might seem), we must do what is necessary to avoid a lawsuit. Where other agencies may be able and willing to take on risks, Stocksy may not be able to given our smaller size and budget.
