Occasionally, Stocksy clients will approach artists directly rather than reaching out to Support. Navigating this communication can be challenging, so we've outlined what to do.
The client is interested in licensing your Stocksy content
If a client has approached you about your Stocksy content, here's what you should do:
- Thank them for reaching out.
- If they don't already have it, provide the URL to the asset on Stocksy.
- Refer the client to support@stocksy.com with any licensing questions. If you wish, you can CC: Support in your email reply.
This procedure keeps things simple for both you and the client, allows us to continue offering licensing protection, and allows our Sales team to explore a relationship with the opportunity for future sales.
If a client has approached you about licensing your Stocksy content directly, you may choose that option. First, per our Exclusivity Policy, you must deactivate the desired content and all related content from your Stocksy portfolio. Stocksy can't assist with licensing terms, payment, or any issues that may arise.
Please note that deactivating assets will remove them from Stocksy and Adobe and can negatively affect clients who may have saved your content with an intent to purchase it.
The client is requesting access to high-res files or documents
If a client asks for something related to your Stocksy content, such as a high-res file or copies of legal documents, please forward the request to support@stocksy.com and do not offer any files or documentation directly.
The client is interested in content not currently on Stocksy
If a client has approached you about licensing content that isn't part of your Stocksy portfolio, you can choose to upload it to Stocksy for review or license it to the client directly.
If you choose to add it to your Stocksy portfolio, contact Support to give our Editors a heads up. Please note that all content will be reviewed under usual standards, even if a client has made a specific request.
If you choose to license it to the client directly, first deactivate any related content from Stocksy, as mentioned above.
The client is interested in hiring you to do a custom series
Go for it! Please feel free to take the opportunity presented to you. Note that we can't assist in creating a licensing agreement or establishing a fair payment structure when you create for a Stocksy client outside the site; this will be entirely up to you.
If you aren't comfortable creating a licensing agreement, and:
- the content is a good fit for our collection, and
- the client isn't looking for exclusive use,
We're happy to allow the client to license it through Stocksy. Contact Support to let us know.
