How to Remove Chromatic Aberration

Chromatic aberration (CA), or “color fringing,” is a common optical problem when a lens does not bring all wavelengths of color to the same focal plane. It appears as an outline of unwanted color around the edges of an object. 

Preventing Chromatic Aberration

There are a few ways to prevent fringing from happening in-camera:

• Use a high-quality lens.
• Learn the limitations of your wide-angle lens.
• Use a narrower aperture (higher f-stop).

However, CA is easy to remove in post-processing software when it occurs.
