What should I do when my content is declined?

If our Editors decline your work and you are trying to figure out why or you disagree, you can ask for feedback. 

What checks are in place to ensure an editor hasn't declined my work by mistake?

Stocksy's Editors follow a Content Policy that guides us to maintain an open-minded and collaborative approach to editing within our team and with contributors. Our collection standards constantly evolve through conversation, research, data, and sometimes trial and error. 

Although one editor usually signs the decline note, this does not mean only one set of eyes has checked your content. The editors continuously discuss and share your work during their editing sessions. Additionally, the Editor team meets weekly to discuss declined content with senior Content staff. Every declined asset is re-reviewed by multiple sets of eyes.

This extra layer of review brings in new viewpoints and helps ensure we're not missing out on great content. We also look for opportunities to help individual contributors through additional feedback and patterns that might guide future content education or creative briefs.

That said, we don't always get it right and are open to all requests for feedback or reconsideration. If we re-review and decide not to overturn your content, we ask you to respect our decision.
