In this article, we'll take a look at refining our images using secondary color grading tools. Secondary adjustments should always come after we've made our primary adjustments that affect the image more broadly and organically.
The secondary color correction tools are beneficial to surgically balance highlights, correct hues, saturation and luminance on specific colors, fine-tune the contrast, and limit those adjustments to only the specific dynamic ranges we want.
- Neutralizing the shadows and highlights using the log wheels
- Using the Hue vs Hue, Hue vs Sat, Hue vs Lum to manipulate colors
- Using the RGB curves to add contrast and balance
